Red shoulderette - punainen keeppi

For a friend who bought a new jacket and wanted this to go with it. An easy and quick knit, the lower part of course constructed flat and kitchener stitched together, then new stitches picked up along the upper edge of the circle. It was a one size pattern and now having made one already I would most certainly make the flat piece a litlle wider AND the collar a bit higher. It certainly did not fit me, but even fitting my 10-year-old is so and so. Luckily the recepient is a tiny lady so I hope she will find it big enough. I did not swatch, but I know from experience that I knit pretty exactly to measure if only I have the right yarn and needles, which I did.


Ystävälle joka osti uuden takin ja halusi tällaisen sen kanssa. Helppo ja nopea neuloa, alaosa tietysti neulottiin sileänä neuleena ja silmukoita jäljitellen sitten yhdistettiin jonka jälkeen uudet silmukat poimittiin ympyrän yläreunasta. Ohje oli yhden koon, ja nyt kun olen tehnyt jo yhden olisin melko varmasti tehnyt sileän osan hieman leveämmäksi ja kauluksen aaistuksen korkeammaksi. Tämä ei sopinut minulle, mutta hädin tuskin edes kymmenvuotiaalle tyttärelleni. Onneksi vastaanottaja on pieni nainen joten toivon että tämä on hänelle tarpeeksi iso. En tehnyt mallitilkkua, mutta tiedän kokemuksesta että neulon aika tarkalleen mittoihin sopivaksi jos vain on ohjeen mukainen lanka ja puikot - ja minullahan oli.

Gail- (aka Nightsongs) shawl III - Gail huivi III

My third Gail, which will be my last, for a while anyway. The pattern is nice and the shawl looks fabulous, it just gets boring makin the same scarf over and over again. Anybody else who wants a shawl will have to a) choose anohter of all the thousands of fabulous patterns out there and b) choose another colour than white /offwhite.

This Gail is for a Dear Fried. It turned out a litte bigger than it was meant to, I forgot to count the pattern repeats :)

Kolmas Gail:ini, joka tulee olemaan viimeiseni, toistaiseksi ainakin. Ohje on mukava, ja valmis huivi näyttää upealta, käy vain tylsäksi tehdä aina vain samaa huivia. Jos joku vieläl haluaa huivin hän joutuu a) valitsemaan jonkun toisen tuhansien kauniiden huivien valikoimasta ja b) valitsemaan jonkun toisen värin kuin valkoinen / luonnonvalkoinen.

Tämä huivi on Rakkaalle Ystävälle. Siitä tuli hieman isompi kuin piti, unohdin laskea mallikerrat :)

I am a buzzador :)

I have no idea wether this is an international thing or not, I would guess it is, but I like it. As a Buzzador I get to try stuff like washing liquids, cat food, shampoos - well anything that consumers buy really. I also talk to my friends about the products as well as on my blog from now on - just to share my experiences. Don't worry, it's not going to happen too often or disturb my knitting mojo.

The last few weeks I have tried Vanish, a stain removal product. It's fabulous, according to my friends who I shared the package , it removed blueberry as well as lipstick, grease as well as grass. This is a product that I don't think I'd have bought without being a Buzzador, so one customer gained :)

En tiedä onko tämä kansainvälinen juttu, tämä Buzzaus, mutta arvelisin sen olevan. Buzzadorina saan kokeilla tuotteita kuten pesuaineita, kissanruokaa ja shampoota - oikeastaan mitä vain mitä kuluttajat ostavat. Puhun ystävällinen tuotteista, sekä tästä eteenpäin myös blogissani - jakaakseni kokemukseni tietysti. Älkää huolehtiko, ei tämä toistu niin usein että se häiritsisi neulontaani.

Viime viikot olen kokeillut Vanishia, tahranpoistoaine. Se on ihana, ja ystävieni mukaan joiden kanssa paketin sisällön jaoin, se poistaa mustikan ja huulipunan, rasvan sekä ruohon. En usko että olisin tullut ostaneeksi tätä tuotetta ilman että olen Buzzador, joten he ovat ainakin saanet asiakkaan sitä kautta :)

Socks for daughter

I got some (yeah....) new sock yarn and of course I wanted to get started right away testing the yarn. It was okay to knit, basic nice sock yarn, I hope it is good to wear too. My older daughter loves earthly colours so I knit her a pair of socks, she requested them long, that's why they look a little funny.

Sain jonkin verran (joopajoo...) uutta sukkalankaa ja tietysti halusin testata heti. Se oli ihan hyvää neulottavaa, perussukkalankaa, toivottavasti kestää kulutustakin. Vanhempi tyttäreni rakastaa maanläheisiä värejä, joten tein hänelle sukat. Hän halusi ne pitkänä, siksipä näyttävät aavistuksen hölmöiltä.

Scrap socks - jämälankasukat

I just started a pair of basic socks to get rid of the horrible grey-pink yarn. I was knitting them at a cottage in Petäjävesi with 9 friends and very early on they were already spoken for. I agreed to give my friend Anu K (there were 2 other Anu's as well :)) this pair of socks in exchange for winding my skein (for my shawl) of VERY thin yarn into a ball, which she did. I did finish the socks on Saturday already and could have given her the socks right away, but I wanted to weigh and take a picture of the socks before I pass them on.

Aloitin perussukat vain päästäkseni eroon kammottavasti harmaa-pinkistä langasta. Neuloin niitä mökillä Petäjävedellä jossa olin 9 kaverin kanssa, ja hyvin aikaisessa vaiheessa ne oli jo varattu. Sovittiin, että annan sukat ystävälleni Anu K:lle (siellä oli kaksi muutakin Anua) vastineeksi sille että se keri yhden vyyhdin HYVIN ohutta lankaa puolestani. Sain sukat valmiiksi jo lauantaina ja olisin voinut antaa hänelle sukat saman tien, mutta halusin punnita ja valokuvata sukat ennen kuin annan ne eteenpäin.

Thank-you-socks II - kiitossukat II

As a thank you friend for my still oblivious friend after I emptied their garden of berries, onion, flowers, zucchini etc. Basic toe-up-socks with scarp yarn, thus somewhat different striping towards the top.

Kiitokseksi vielä tietämättömälle ystävälleni sen jälkene kun tyhjensin hänen puutarhansa marjoista, sipulista, kukista ja kesäkurpitsasta. Perussukat aloitettu kärjestä, tehty jämälangoista jonka vuoksi raidoitus varressa hieman erilaista.

Turtleneck pullover - pollopaita

My older daughter has chosen the colours and their balance, I have planned the stripes. I was only finishing the ribbing (on the body) when the first ball of yarn was finished, and I only had eight so I was terrified. I just kept knitting thought because I couldn't figure out what to do, and much later I came to realize that there was after all enough yarn, plenty in fact, because I have a full brown ball left over and some of the pink and white too - 25% of the yarn I had :) Goes to show...

Vanhempi tyttäreni on suunnitellut värit ja niiden tasapainon, minä raidoituksen. Olin vasta saanut vartalo-osan resorin tehtyä kun ensimmäinen kerä oli jo loppu, ja minulla oli kahdekasan, joten olin kauhuissani. Jatkoin neulomista kosk en keksinyt mitä olisi pitänyt tehdä, ja paljon myöhemmin tajusin että minulla kuitenkin oli tarpeeksi lankaa, itse asiassa yllin kyllän, koska minulta jäi yli täysi kerä ruskeaa lankaa sekä vajaat kerät valkoista ja pinkkiä - 25% langoista jotka minulle oli. Siinä sen näkee...
