Socks - Sukat

As a Christmas surprise for Samu. I am pretty darn sure he's never even heard about my blog so I think I am safe even before Christmas. Made from stash yarn, not pretty, but the only purpose of these socks is to keep his feet varm during the winter.

Jouluyllätykseksi Samulle. Olen aivan tasan varma ettei hän ole koskaan edes kuullut blogistani, joten olen varmasti turvassa jopa näin ennen joulua. Tehty jämälangoista, eivät ole kauniit, mutta näiden sukkien ainoa tarkoitus on lämmittää hänen jalkansa talven aikana.

Reflectors for horse - heijastimet hevosille.

There are two dear Finnish horses that I do ride, one more often than the other, but still. Due to my job (that badly affects my hobbies :)) I have to ride in the dark half of the year. Not to be run over I decided to sew another pair of reflectors for the horses that goes just above the hoof. I will try to take pictures later :)

Ratsastelen kahta suomenhevosta, toista useammin kuin toista, mutta kuitenkin. Johtuen työstäni (joka pahasti haittaa harrastuksiani) joudun ratsastamaan pimeässä puolet vuodesta. Jotta en tulisi yliajetuksi päätin tehdä toiset setit heijastimia heppojen jalkoihin, siihen vuohisen yläpuolelle. Koitan ottaa kuvia myöhemmin.

Flower hat kukkapipo

My daughter wanted a hat. Not just any hat, a slouchy hat with a crochet flower on it. Not only that, the hat was to be the colour of mustard. That was the easy part, I just happened to have that colour (and lots of it too because at one point I planned for it to become Sylvi) in my stash. Then we started the search for the perfect pattern. I made a hat, frogged it - too much of a beret. I made another hat, too weird. Made a third hat, pattern from my own head and voila - a hat just as my daughter wanted it :) I myself quite like it too, the colour is not quite me (don't ask why the huge amount of yarn for Sylvi then...) but other than that... I think I shall knit myself one of them too :)


Tyttäreni halusi pipon. Ei mitä tahansa pipoa, vaan lörtsäpipon virkatulla kukkasella. Eikä siinä vielä kaikki, pipon tulisi olla sinapinvärinen. Väri oli se helppo osuus, sattuipa olemaan meikäläisen varastossa sinapinväristä lankaa (ja paljon, koska olin jossain vaiheessa suunnitellut tekeväni siitä Sylvin ). Sitten alkoi täydellisen ohjeen metsästys. Tein pipon, purin sen - liian baskerimainen. Tein toisen hatun - liian kummallinen. Tein kolmannen hatun, omasta päästä, ja voila - tuli juusi sellainen kuin hatun piti olla. Pidän siitä itsekin vaikka väri ei ole ihan omani (älkää kysykö miksi sitten olin ostanut sellaisen määrän lankaa Sylviä varten...) mutta muuten... taidanmpa neuloa itsellenikin sellaisen.

Leg warmers - säärystimet

For a lady who is not going to be mentioned just yet in case she reads this blog :) For christmas as a little surprise (not a present because it's a very old scrap yarn and knots in it too, I cannot remember what on earth it's been...). The only sole purpose of these, are to warm her legs. From a distance they look pretty too, but the other one has tens of knots in it. I think I managed to keep all or at least most of them on the wrong side, but a closer look will reveal the awful thruth :)

Eräälle rouvalle jonka henkilöllisyyttä en paljasta vielä siltä varalta että hän lukee tätä blogia. Jouluksi pienenä yllätyksenä (ei lahjaksi koska lankana käytetty erittäin vanhaa jämälankaa jossa on solmujakin, en kyllä yhtään muista mikä se on ollut). Näiden ainoa tarkoitus on lämmitää hänen sääriään. Etäämmältä näyttävätkin nätiltä, mutta toisessa on kymmeniä solmuja. Uskoisin pystyneeni pitämään kaikki tai ainakin suurimman osan nurjalla puolella, mutta tarkemmin jos katsoo paljastuu karmaiseva totuus :)
